Any idea how the magazine is doing?  Readership and revenue?  I haven't seen it since it went online.

Re: USATT magazine

All I know is from the minutes of meetings. The June 29 board meeting minutes say, "About $10,000 in advertisements were sold in the Spring Issue, which resulted in a $4,000 shortfall to projections." The May 19 minutes say, "The digital magazine generated $9000 in ad revenue for the Spring 2014 issue, constituting a $6,000 shortfall to budgeted revenue." These two statements seem to contradict each other (I blogged about this), since they both refer to the Spring Magazine, and one says they raised $10,000 in ads and were $4000 short, the other $9000 in ads and were $6000 short.

Percentage of shortfalls are huge.  To project $15,000 and only bring in $9,000 is quite a miss.  It seems advertisers are abandoning ship.  Pretty soon we'll hear that the magazine has been cancelled due to lack of revenue and readers.

Re: USATT magazine

I blogged about this when I learned USATT was going digital, but projecting the same advertising income. That's incredibly dumb - sort of like claiming sandpaper gives more spin than sponge. Didn't they consult anyone knowledgeable about the situation? I don't think anyone on the USATT Board of Directors or the Editorial Board has expertise in this type of thing - if they did, they should have been screaming about it.
