Table colour... What's up with the BLUE tables?

OK, call me a traditionalist...  Yeah, I swing an hardbat at a 38mm ball as my preference... and MUCH prefer the GREEN table.  I've seen BLACK tables in my time... few and far between anymore.... and I don't presume they're legal anyhow... but these BLUE tables...  the preference for "televised events" (cuz there's SO many of those) or so I hear...

What might the logic be behind the blue table?  I find them to be much brighter than the green and more reflective.  I've oft "lost" the ball in the glare they produce.  Given my druthers, I would play a green table.  Alas, there are some clubs that have nothing but blue... and the table we have at work is a very nice Kettler indoor outdoor.... in BLUE.  I have the same table at home in GREEN and it's an entirely different playing experience.

Or maybe... I'm just nuts (certainly WELL within the realm of possibility  ;-)

Thoughts?  Insights?

I don't see the reason you should be worried about colors. Unless you have optical issues or just what attracts your eyes. Anyway, for me, i am comfortable with any of the two provided the measurements of the table are of the right standard. Check https://top10table.com/best-table-tennis-tables-reviews/

Spammers... I absolutely HATE spammers.  I often wonder.... are they at all effective?  Do they actually SELL stuff that way?  OK... so I'm a bit off-topic for the moment... but really... someone spams me, I make absolutely sure that I do NOT buy from them.

I still prefer the green table.  But then, I'm a bit of a luddite, eh?

I love blue tables when playing with orange balls, but green tables when playing with white balls. I have seen some blue tables that are really bright and highly reflective, but this seems to happen by some random chance, usually 1 in 8 from what I have seen in tournaments.

Hi Larry B., the proliferation of blue tables started in the 1990s, and now there are probably more blue tables at table tennis club than green ones. The tables at my club (MDTTC) are all blue, as are the tables at nearly all the local clubs. I'm not sure what the stats would be for the 100,000 tables sold annually in the U.S., but I think the masses still go mostly green.

A lot of the reason for the blue tables was it was something innovative and different, so a lot of clubs went for them. I admit I like blue tables.

Side note - yeah, I'm getting a bunch of spammers here. I delete their notes and block their email/server as fast as I can, but they seem to be automated to keep posting under different server names. I'm working with a programmer who's trying to fix the problem.
